Q2. How do I enable Java in my web browser?

  1. Goto Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel
  2. Double-click on the Java Coffee Cup logo icon to open the Java Control Panel

  3. In the Java Control Panel, select the Advanced tab

  4. Click on + icon next to Default Java for browsers

  5. Ensure the tickbox next to the Internet Explorer, Mozilla Family, is checked to enable JRE for your web browser
  6. Otherwise, click on the tickbox to enable the JRE for your Web browser and Click Apply.
  7. Restart your web browser to effect the change.

Q4. How do I enable Java Applet in my web browser?

  1. Goto Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options
  2. Select the Security tab

  3. Click on the Custom Level button
  4. Scroll to Scripting of Java Applets option and select Enable

  5. Click Ok button and restart the web browser for the changes to take effect

Q5. I have the above settings correctly configured, but SingPass Java applet error still occurs. How to resolve this issue?

When all settings have been done correctly and SingPass Java applet error still occurs, try restoring the default setting of IE Browser to resolve this issue by following these steps:

  1. Goto Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options
  2. Select the Advanced tab
  3. For Internet Explorer 6.x, click on the Restore Defaults button

    For Internet Explorer 7.x / 8.x, click on the Reset button

  4. Click on the OK button to apply the changes
